Top doctor remains brain cancer-free after a year
Story of glioblastoma, one of the most aggressive forms of brain cancer in Dr. Richard Scolyer!
Australian doctor Richard Scolyer (57) has a good news! He was diagnosed with a very aggressive brain cancer (glioblastoma) with a typical survival rate of less than a year. Dr. Scolyer, a pathologist, received an experimental treatment based on his own cancer research. A year later, he is still cancer-free! He recently had an MRI scan, and anxiously awaited the results. Thankfully, there were no signs of the cancer coming back.

If only we could have tried this therapy on my dad last summer.
I recall there was a company in UK claiming to provide customized immunotherapy for glioblastoma but they were not reachable at the time. All the local doctors including oncologist and neurosurgeon i talked to told us it wasnt feasible to do any treatment beyond palliative radiation to slow the tumor growth because of his age (91).
