A review of a fascinating new study
In our talk yesterday we discussed a study from China that demonstrated that the gut microbiome (Prevotella) releases lipopolysaccharides that enable the colorectal area to resist tumorigenesis. However, the same LPS reaches the brain and causes cognitive decline. We then discussed the possible solutions to keep the colorectal cancer risk reduced while also reducing the risk of cognitive decline. It was a fascinating talk. I thoroughly enjoyed presetting it and discussing the possible management approaches. References for your review are listed below:
