Statins’ eligibility, benefits, risks, etc. are an important topic for us all. American heart association had published an updated calculator for heart attack, stroke, and heart failure criteria in November of 2023. A new study has demonstrated that the statin eligibility will reduce almost by 40% with this new criteria. The questions are, how solid is this new study, how solid was the previous evidence and previous studies, and what is the role of calcium scoring?
